In this article we will be going through the process of cancelling a gift card that had funds loaded onto it. This can be required for many reasons such as a lost or stolen card. Once this is done the gift card that was loaded will no longer be valid.


To cancel this gift card you will need the order number for when it was purchased. This is required to bring up the details.


The first step is to login to web admin by going to c1.tchpt.com/admin


Once there enter your phone number and then on the next screen enter the code that was texted. 


Choose the store that the gift card was loaded at, once loaded go into Operations, Payment then Gift Cards.


Here you will need to enter in the order number, it will bring up the orders with that number once submit is chosen. 


Select the correct date order (if multiple), and then you can choose to "void gift card amount" in red. This will remove the gift card from the system.


This then completes the steps to follow in order to remove a gift card from the system. From here depending on the circumstance a new card could be issued.


If no new card is being issues and you need to refund the customer, please follow the next steps.


REFUNDING


Unfortunately refunding a gift card and keeping it active is not an option in Web Admin, In order to refund an amount and keep the gift card active, this needs to be done on the payment processor portal.


You would login to the Payment Processors portal, find the transaction and do a partial refund for the amount required.


There would be nothing needing to be done on the touchpoint side.
