Menus, HQ- and Local Items
Create and manage Menus on HQ level and sync them down to the stores.
HQ can update HQ items and pricing to all stores.
HQ will have pre-configured Menus to use. You can add additional Menus, Items & Options of your own on store level - Local Items&Options.
On store level you can create Local Items & Options. Those Items & Options are only available and editable in the Web Admin of the Local Store they have been created at.
Create and Edit Menu
Creating Menu's
Create a new menu in Web Admin on HQ level.
1. Go to Web Admin > Food & Drinks > Create Menu > click "POS Menu"
2. Give the POS Menu a name, e.g. "Main Menu".
Now fill your Menu with life by adding
3. Categories and
4. Items.
Let's create a new menu and add a first Category, "Hot Drinks"
To delete a category from a menu, click Edit Category, select Delete on the category and Save.
Assign Items to the Category
Re-arrange Menu Buttons (items)
The buttons on the POS can be rearranged from Web Admin, and can make the system more user-friendly.
This has to be done from Web Admin on HQ level, as that is where the POS Menus are set.
Navigate to: Food & Drinks > POS Menus
Select the POS Menu > drill in by choosing the category > drag and drop the item button.
Sync Web Admin updates to devices
Sync devices after editing settings in Web Admin.
Devices can be synced from your HQ’s or from Local Store's Web Admin pages.
Sync Menu from HQ to individual stores
HQ Web Admin > Franchises > Sync > Select All > Sync Now
You want to "Reload Devices", otherwise the changes will show on the devices only after re-opening the Touchpoint app manually.
Don't worry, TouchpointPRO will stall fro less then a second on the iPads while updating the menu, barely noticeable to your staff.
Sync WebAdmin updates to stores
Continue reading and learn how to add new Items & Options and assign Options to Items.
Sync Local Web Admin updates to devices
On your local stores WebAdmin page go to...
Backoffice > Franchise > Sync > press the yellow button reading Sync
Your local settings are now synced to the local stores devices.
Items & Options
Items & Options are added in Web Admin.
Global Items & Options are added in Web Admin on HQ level and synced down to the stores.
Local Items & Options are added in Web Admin of the individual store and are only available at that store.
Adding Items
Web Admin > Food & Drinks > Items & Options > click Add Item
Item details:
Price is in cents, so $3.50 is 350 cents
Add POS Menu Image
Prepare an image with the recommended size, in this case 240x120. Click Images to expand the editor.
Click "Pick Image" and select it.
Mutable Price
Allows to change to item price on the POS during the ordering process. Usually not needed.
Prep Dot Color
Assign colors for different Item types. Helps to see on one glance if e.g. the drink is hot, cold, blended etc., to know which cup to grab.
Options
Select Options for the Item. Click on the options in the Inactive pane thus activating them for the Item.
Recipe & Prep Instruction
Help your Baristas by defining ingredients and prep instructions to the Items and making those available in the POS/KDS.
You can't find the right options for your new Item? No problem! Keep reading and find out how to easily create new options in the Web Admin.
Adding Options
Adding Options is a 2 step process.
1. Add Option and set up details.
2. Add Choices to Option
1. Add Options
Web Admin > Food & Drinks > Items & Options > click Add Option
Give the Option a name, e.g. Coffee Sizes and 'Add'.
Find the newly created Option Coffee Sizes in the list and "Edit"
Set up now Options details like adding Choices, setting the Baseprice etc.
Exclusive
Disables multi-selecing choices for an Option, e.g. the Option 'flavour' allows to select only one choice, either strawberry or vanilla, but not both.
Required
Selecting a Choice for this Option is required when adding an Order on POS, e.g. "Size"
Save your changes or scroll down to add Choices to the Option.
Base Price
Add a base price for the Option.
If the option has multiple choices with different prices, e.g. Size = small, medium or large, you would not set a base price but instead add prices on the Size choices itself. Keep reading to learn how to do that.
2. Add Choices
An Option can have different Choices, e.g. the Option Size would typically have choices like small, medium, large etc.
Scroll down to "Add New Choice".
Choice details:
Name
Add the choices name, e.g. medium
Price Delta
Define the change in price for the Choice to the Options Base Price
Example 1, Large Hot Latte: Set the Item Price of a "Hot Latte" = $0. The Base Price of the option "Size" is $0 as well. The option "Size" has 3 choices, small, medium and large. The choice Price Delta for "small" is $2.90, "medium" is $3.50 and a "large" hot latte is $3.90. So the final price does not come form the Item but actually from the size Choice in this case $3.90 for the choice "Large".
Example 2, Energy Drink (Item) with flavor (Option) organic vanilla (Option Choice): the Price of the Item "Energy Drink" is 650 Cents. The Base Price to add a flavor (Option) is 120 Cents. The Price Delta for the flavor "organic vanilla" (Choice) is additional 60 Cents. The final price when ordering this combination is 830 Cents (Item price 650 + Option base price 120 + Choice Price Delta 60).
Selected
Define a Choice that is pre-selected by default. The Choice can be easily changed during the ordering process.
Use Quantity
Make the choice quantifiable. For a Size Choice you would set NO as the drink is either small, medium or large. A flavour you would want to be quantifiable though, so that the customer can select how many flavour pumps to add.
Assigning Options to Items
Learn how to connect Options and Items.
Web Admin > Food & Drinks > Items & Options
Items and Options can be linked by either assigning Options to an Item or Items to an Option.
Assign Options to an Item

Now assign Items in the Items pane. Once the Items are assigned, click Done on the Option.
Assigning Options
Don’t forget to sync updates to the POS tablets!
Explanation: 1/2, check marks why you might want this
Option Choice Quantifiers: ✔, + or - to go below zero and select fraction
Tap once (+) to get the ✔ which means "selected". Tap more to increase the quantity (1, 2, etc.), (-) to reduce it.
Tap (-) from zero and you get fractions: 3/4, 1/2, 1/4.
POS view
Fractions allow you to add one shot as a combination of different flavours, e.g. 3/4 Irish Cream + 1/4 Vanilla = 1 Flavour Shot in total.
To set up Option Choice Quantifiers, open the Option (Web Admin > Food & Drinks > Items & Option > Edit Option).
Then scroll down to Choices.
Click "USE QTY" on the choice and select an available option.

Explanation: Price by Size not item
We have learned in this lesson that prices can be set on different levels, Item, Option or Option Choice.
Let's take a look 2 examples, the first for Price by Item and the second for Price by Option.
Example 1, Price by Item = Size
Soda Can, Pepsi:
Set the price on the Item. The price for any soda can is $1. Choose a Soda (option) = $0. The Option and Option Choices (Pepsi, Dr.Pepper etc..) are free.
Example 2, Price by Option = Size
Large Hot Latte:
Set the Item Price of a "Hot Latte" = $0.
Example 3, Price by Item, Option and Option Choice
Energy Drink (Item) with flavor (Option) organic vanilla (Option Choice):
the Price of the Item "Energy Drink" is 650 Cents.
