IMPORTANT: Touchpoint printers never need to be “reconfigured” or "reset".

Techs may have needed to reset printers with other POS, but Touchpoint communicates differently and does not "lose" printers when the printer IP Address changes or the TP system is having issues.

Checking Power & Paper

Before anything we need to confirm the printer is powered on and paper is properly loaded.

1. Check and ensure the power light is lit on the top of the printer
2. Ensure the Power Light on the front of the printer is lit.  https://download4.epson.biz/sec_pubs/bs/html/m001464/en/chap04_1.html
3. Check the power cable on the back of the printer, ensure it is pushed in firmly.
4. Follow the power cable, and ensure the connection halfway down is pushed in firmly.
5. Confirm the connection at the wall is plugged into an active port

6. Finally verify that there is paper in the print by opening the top cover and ensuring paper is loaded the correct direction

7. Attempt Printing

Printing the configuration sheet

Now that we have the power working on the printer, if it still isn't printing we need to check the configuration.

1. Turn the printer off, then press and hold the feed button and turn the printer back on.

2. Once the configuration sheet starts printing let go of the feed button

3. You should get a sheet like the one below.

4. Tap the feed button 4 times to get the network diagnostic sheet (pictured below)

There will be an IP address under Wireless on this sheet starting with 10.0.0, if so test print from the iPads.

       a. If a test page prints then you now have a working printer.

       b. If no test page prints, then reach out to Touchpoint for configuration checks.

If that doesn't work please contact support@touchpoint.io with the printouts and we will help you get your printer working again.

IMPORTANT: Reconfiguring a printer is NOT likely to resolve any base issue, but is very likely to create an additional problem and waste hours of time from the customer and the tech. Resetting the printer should NEVER be done under any circumstances if the printer is expected to be used in the store.
